Dans le panthéon du jeu vidéo, la franchise Call of Duty tient une place indiscutable établie depuis de nombreuses années. À vrai dire, c’est son quatrième épisode, sous-titré “Modern Warfare”, qui a complètement bousculé les codes de l’industrie en 2007 un chapitre fondateur dans l’histoire du FPS dont Infinity Ward peut se féliciter, brillamment entretenu deux ans plus tard avec un Modern Warfare 2 gargantuesque plus spectaculaire encore, plus nerveux et plus complet, ce fut à l’époque un raz-de-marée sans précédent. Pour ainsi dire, il s’agissait tout simplement du produit culturel le plus vendu, devant même la musique ou le cinéma ! Un succès retentissant dont la refonte vient tout juste de débarquer, à l’improviste, sur le PlayStation Store pour une exclusivité Sony d’un petit mois quatre ans après le remaster du Modern Warfare originel salué par la critique, que donne cette retouche de l’un des plus grands hits de la précédente génération ?Après avoir fait ses preuves sur Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered en 2016, le studio Beenox Entertainment a gagné de nouveau les faveurs d’Activision dont il a rejoint les rangs en 2005 avec le sublime Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled autant dire que les développeurs québecois savent quoi ils parlent quand il s’agit de remettre un jeu au goût du jour. Sans surprise, surtout lorsque l’on connait les nombreuses fuites et rumeurs qui ont parsemé la toile ces derniers mois, leur tout nouveau projet n’est autre que Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, dont la particularité réside en l’absence totale de multijoueur. Une excellente occasion de redécouvrir cette aventure survitaminée sous l’hospice d’un portage très honnête. ANCIEN WARFAREÉtant sa suite directe, Modern Warfare 2 nous emmène cinq ans après les terribles événements de son prédécesseur dans un monde fracassé par la guerre internationale au sein de la Task Force 141, une équipe de soldats d’élite menée par le Général Sheperd, et des marines américains, on affrontera ainsi les hommes de Vladimir Makarov et ses différentes alliances. Une excellente raison pour se promener aux quatre coins du monde, du Moyen-Orient au Brésil en passant par la Maison Blanche ou les montagnes enneigées de Russie, et surtout d’en prendre plein la vue à travers des situations hollywoodiennes de haute atteindre le niveau apocalyptique de Modern Warfare 3, sorti deux plus tard en 2011, Modern Warfare 2 était et est encore un peu le paroxysme du jeu d’action militaire américain ; un concentré de couleurs, d’explosion, de fumée et de cascades abracadabrantes ultra-nerveux, presque sans temps mort. La narration se veut particulièrement succincte - on sent qu’Infinity Ward a fait de sacrés progrès de ce côté-là c’est indéniable - pour ne pas dire presque anecdotique de façon à laisser place à l’action, encore plus variée, occasionnant désormais des courses-poursuites James Bondiennes, des séquences d’infiltration dirigistes mais efficaces… et des scènes toujours aussi GUERRE NE MEURT JAMAISOnze ans plus tard, ce concentré d’adrénaline s’avère toujours aussi jouissif grâce à un gameplay solide, que l’on ne présente plus, dont s’émanent des vibes arcades inimitables, entièrement propres à ces vieux Call of Duty dont la fluidité n’est plus à prouver. Pour autant, passer après le reboot clinquant de Modern Warfare survenu en 2019 accuse d’un contraste certain, d’autant plus que ce dernier titre a réussi à trouver un équilibre parfait entre le réalisme et cette même accessibilité qui définissait les anciens Modern Warfare. Peu importe, avec ce Remastered, on trouve ou retrouve vite ses marques malgré l’absence de features modernes auxquelles nous nous sommes vite habitués comme la glissade, l’appui sur les murs ou la possibilité de recharger tout en regardant dans le viseur. Les mécaniques sont malgré tout bien huilées, toujours après plus d’une décennie, et prouvent une nouvelle fois le talent qu’avait eu Infinity Ward à bâtir alors un système prévu pour s’imposer et durer dans le ans plus tard, ce concentré d’adrénaline s’avère toujours aussi jouissif grâce à un gameplay solide, que l’on ne présente plus, dont s’émanent des vibes arcades inimitables, entièrement propres à ces vieux Call of Duty dont la fluidité n’est plus à il y a surtout l’admirable travail de Beenox, désormais expert en matière de remasterisation pour le compte d’Activision. Autant l’absence du multijoueur s’explique totalement par la volonté d’Activision à se concentrer sur celui du dernier volet - qui n’a d’ailleurs jamais aussi bien marché grâce au battle royale Warzone et les maps iconiques de MW2 y sont justement intégrées au fil des saisons - mais la disparition pure et dure des Missions Spec Ops, elle, est un réel manque à où Modern Warfare 2019 nous avait déçu, c’était justement sur ce point précis les missions coop obligatoirement jouables à quatre pas en dessous, l’absence de split-screen et les grands environnements débouchaient sur une accessibilité mal fichue, le contraire même des missions Specs Ops de MW2 dont on priait le retour en bonne et due forme. C’est difficilement justifiable et cela ternie quelque peu le bilan quand on sait à quel prix le jeu est vendu, sans espoir d’une version physique qui plus est 25 euros pour un cinq ou six heures de jeu déjà connues de tous, cela en rebutera probablement certains. Autant dire que l’intérêt à se rabattre sur les trophées/succès et autres modes de difficulté est important, à moins que l’envie irréductible de s’offrir un plaisir nostalgique ne soit de mise.

En 2007, lorsque Modern Warfare arrive dans le commerce, c'est un véritable choc. Call of Duty prend le parti de s'écarter de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, et s'installe dans le monde moderne. Les guerres du gouvernement Bush déteignent sur les créations artistiques et les jeux vidéo n'y coupent pas. Modern Warfare, comme à son habitude, va donc diviser sa campagne en deux tronçons, le premier se déroulant en Russie et au Kazakhstan, l'autre dans un pays qui n'est jamais clairement identifié mais qui pourrait parfaitement être l'Irak. Un véritable changement pour la série qui jusque là était plutôt habituée à nous faire revivre les grandes batailles de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, en Europe comme dans le Pacifique. Avec le talent d'Infinity Ward et la propension de la série à multiplier les scènes archi-scriptées mais d'une intensité folle, Call of Duty a, cette année-là, atteint des sommets. En 2007, Modern Warfare n'était pas particulièrement beau. Aujourd'hui, il a plutôt fière allure, avec des textures qui nous rappellent que l'on est bien en 2016. Les personnages, notamment, sont franchement réussis animations mises à part et l'on constate rapidement que l'équipe artistique en a profité pour enrichir de détails les différents niveaux que l'on traverse. Ce sont pourtant de petits détails, mais qui tous additionnés apportent une véritable touche de fraîcheur au jeu. Le jeu est un peu terne par moments. Plus beau ? Oui, clairement, a fortiori si on le compare au jeu original. Pour autant, on ne peut s'empêcher de penser que les équipes auraient pu faire mieux. Une réflexion qui revient souvent et notamment lorsque l'on joue les missions du Sergent Jackson, au Proche Orient. La distance d'affichage est souvent assez moyenne et les décors sont régulièrement nimbés dans un brouillard qui délave des niveaux qui devraient être chargés de couleurs chaudes et de lumière. Ces dernières années, les remasters se sont enchaînés et clairement, le polish de Raven Software n'est pas au niveau de celui appliqué à Resident Evil 0, Halo 2, la trilogie PS3 Uncharted, God of War III ou encore Gears of War, des titres qui pour certains sont plus vieux encore que Call of Duty 4. Cela étant, impossible de bouder son plaisir puisque la campagne se vit, comme en 2007, à fond les ballons. Toujours aussi bien équilibrée, savamment rythmée, on se surprend presque dix ans plus tard à voir avec quel talent les équipes d'Infinity Ward avaient représenté la guerre à l'écran. Certes, le jeu use et abuse de scripts tous plus grandiloquents les uns que les autres et laisse finalement assez peu de liberté au joueur, mais il ne l'étouffe jamais avec un level-design trop rectiligne. Et en 2016, cela fonctionne toujours aussi bien, notamment parce que le jeu enchaine avec aisance les missions et les objectifs différents, et sait distiller intelligemment les retournements de situation. Bref, difficile de ne pas prendre de plaisir en découvrant ou en redécouvrant cette campagne.… mais dont l'âge commence à se faire sentir Petit petit, allez, viens là mon grand, cours droit vers moi Malheureusement, tout n'est pas parfait. Raven a pris le parti de toucher aussi peu que possible le noyau même du jeu et cela se ressent par instants. Difficile de ne pas pester contre l'IA, qui déjà à l'époque prêtait à sourire. En 2016, elle donne carrément à pleurer ! Chez les alliés, le pathfinding est inexistant et la plupart du temps, ils suivent un chemin prédéterminé, ce qui les conduit régulièrement à pousser le joueur s'il se trouve sur leur chemin, et éventuellement à l'exposer aux tirs ennemis... Tandis que chez ces derniers, on dénombre de nombreux comportements suicidaires qui, on est prêt à le parier, ne font pas partie de ce que l'on apprend habituellement à l'école militaire. Ces soucis concernant les ennemis auraient sans doute demandé une quantité de travail sans doute intenable pour Raven Software, mais il est toutefois dommage que par moments, le caractère hyper scripté du titre nuise au plaisir de jeu. On aurait donc aimé que les développeurs détachent les alliés de leurs rails et les dotent d'une véritable IA, même peu multijoueur enrichi Le mode Elimination Confirmée n'était pas présente sur le jeu original, mais est un ajout appréciable. Côté multijoueur, le constat est finalement assez similaire. Le jeu a évolué dans la bonne direction, en proposant un framerate stable à 60 images par seconde sur console, et un matchmaking qui, lors de notre test, fonctionne à la perfection. Le jeu est livré à sa sortie avec 10 cartes et l'intégralité des modes de jeux disponibles il y a 9 ans, plus Élimination Confirmée qui avait été introduite par Modern Warfare 3. On retrouve donc avec plaisir les parties de Search and Destroy sur Crossfire, ou le chacun pour soi sur Bog. Notez au passage que les joueurs ont vite retrouvé leurs habitudes et l'on trouve déjà bon nombre de campeurs ici et là. Il va donc falloir dans un premier temps subir leurs affronts répétés puisque, comme à l'époque et en fait dans n'importe quel autre Call of Duty, vous allez devoir jouer plusieurs parties avant de débloquer la création de classes et les armes et équipements les plus intéressants. Difficile d'exister sans un bon fusil mitrailleur et un viseur point rouge, dans ce monde de brutes ! On touche là d'ailleurs l'une des caractéristiques générales de la série, et un problème pour de nombreux joueurs le jeu avantage les joueurs ayant passé le plus de temps sur le titre, et à talent égal, cela fait trop souvent la différence. Le système de leveling n'a pas évolué et les nostalgiques retrouveront avec plaisir un choix d'armes, d'accessoires et de perks assez limité. Sobriété, efficacité ? Certains regretteront sans doute que Raven Software n'en ait pas profité pour revoir un peu les menus et le contenu qui nous rappellent que Call of Duty 4 est sorti il y a presque 10 ans, et l'on est loin du contenu pléthorique d'Infinite Warfare, dernier épisode en date. Là où Modern Warfare Remastered fait plaisir, c'est qu'il nous rappelle à quel point un FPS n'a pas besoin de super sauts et wallrun pour être divertissant. Dans un genre complètement différent, Call of Duty 4 oblige les joueurs à prendre en considération chaque mur, chaque maison, qui sont autant des obstacles que de potentiels nids à ennemis. Avec ses cartes remplis de cachettes et d'obstacles, le jeu demande autant de réflexes qu'une certaine science du placement et des déplacements. C'est particulièrement excitant lorsque l'on joue avec des amis, où la faculté de chacun à jouer en suivant un plan collectif est déterminant lorsqu'il s'agit de gagner. Ce remaster nous rappelle pourquoi en son temps, Modern Warfare avait fédéré autant de joueurs. Accessible et ouvertement grand public, le jeu possède néanmoins ce qu'il faut de technique pour aguicher les gros adeptes de FPS, et en 2016, cela fonctionne toujours aussi presque. Car hélas, ce multijoueur n'est pas exempt de tout défaut. Si les équipes de Raven Software en ont profité pour moderniser la bande-son et améliorer les sons émis par les différentes pétoires du jeu, il aurait été judicieux d'apporter la même attention aux contrôles et aux déplacements. Depuis CoD 4, la série a évolué et a su s'améliorer sur différents points et l'on ne peut que constater une certaine raideur dans les déplacements, que l'on oublie finalement assez vite. En outre, si le jeu assure sans forcer les 60 images par secondes, c'est au prix d'une apparence visuelle plus pauvre qu'en campagne. Dommage, car c'est probablement ici que les joueurs vont passer le plus de temps. Activation nous fait la surprise de sortir la version modernisée de l'illustre "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2" 2009. Ce lancement s'est fait en deux temps avec un mois d'exclusivité PS4, suivi des versions PC et Xbox One. Commercialisé pour une vingtaine d'euros, le FPS d'Activision est alléchant... Mais est-il indispensable quand on dispose déjà de l'original ? Ayant particulièrement apprécié "Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered", pour ses améliorations graphiques, sa campagne solo épique et le fait de retrouver les maps multijoueurs "modernisées", le débarquement surprise du second volet nous a grandement intéressés. Oui, mais voilà... Son titre a été légèrement remanié pour devenir "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Campaign". Ce qui implique d'oublier d'office le frag' en ligne pour ne profiter que de la partie solo ! Alors certes, cela reste agréable et nous avions aimé évoluer en 2009 aux côtés de Soap, Capitaine Price, Ghost et la Task Force 141... mais ce n'est qu'une partie qui a été gardée avec cette relecture 2020. Après le tutoriel dans le sable et la mission dans les ruelles, à bord du véhicule équipé d'une "gatling", nous redécouvrons Soap dans la neige avec les course-poursuites mémorables en Ski-Doo. Grace aux progrès techniques, le résultat a vraiment gagné en consistance ! Idem pour les nombreuses fusillades en intérieur, plus réalistes et donc immersives que par le passé. Un peu plus loin dans le jeu, nous avons aussi aimé retrouver la mission dans la favela... Notez qu'Activision a choisi de conserver la fameuse mission que l'on peut passer incluant le massacre de civils dans l'aéroport russe. Le sachant et vu le côté violent de cet épisode, ne négligez pas la norme PEGI 18. Une mise à jour technique réussie sur PC Pour juger des progrès technique, il était important pour notre équipe de tester ce "Remastered" dans de bonnes conditions. Aussi, nous avons opté pour la version PC qui est comme toujours la plus aboutie, et ce, via une config adaptée, composée de d'un processeur Intel i5-9400F, de 16 Go de DDR4 et d'une carte graphique Nvidia RTX 2060 6Go. Ce qui nous a permis d'activer les options graphiques en mode "Bonus" et de passer la résolution à 200 % ! Eh bien, le résultat est agréable et sans commune mesure avec les versions 2009 PC PS3 Xbox 360. Concrètement, les textures sont beaucoup plus fines même si certaines vues de - très - près restent un peu fades, les décors sont grandement plus détaillés et l'on apprécie les jeux d'ombres et de lumières qui apportent un réalisme à l'ensemble assez grisant. Vu que la mise en scène est respectée à l'identique, le soft est efficace et plaisant - du début à la fin -, surtout si vous aimez les FPS et plus particulièrement la franchise "Call of Duty" pour son côté hollywoodien. Sur le plan du gameplay, il n'y a aucun changement, ni ajustement à noter. Le sachant, si vous avez de bons souvenirs de la campagne, vous retrouverez les même sensations, mais avec des graphismes bien plus beaux. La haute définition est un argument de poids, tout comme le fait de pouvoir désormais profiter d'une résolution 4K et de la prise en charge du HDR sur consoles. Une campagne furieuse en mode 4K Toujours à propos de la technique, le frame-rate est désormais illimité sur PC, en plus du support de moniteur ultra large. Mais, pour en profiter, il sera impératif d'avoir un compte sur la plateforme " de Blizzard. Comme c'était déjà le cas avec le dernier épisode de la série ! Dans l'ensemble, nous avons passé de bons moments à refaire les 3 actes du mode scénarisé. En revanche, quel dommage d'avoir supprimé les missions "Special Ops" de la version originale. Pire encore, d'avoir fait l'impasse sur la partie multijoueur, quand on sait que la communauté y consacre un nombre d'heures incalculables à chaque nouvel opus. Avec près de six heures de combat en solo pour une vingtaine d'euros, l'expérience pourra tout de même séduire certains nostalgiques et ceux qui, trop jeunes à l'époque,n'ont pas connu les versions PS3 / Xbox 360. Reste que, de notre point de vue, "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered" aurait dû, comme le quatrième opus, nous revenir complet ! Malgré cette franche déception côté contenu, nous vous recommandons vivement de profiter de ce come-back HD et 4K si, comme nous, vous avez aimé les missions solos de ce mythique "Call of Duty". Enfin, nous espérons qu'Activision le propose par la suite en version physique PS4 / Xbox One, car - en l'état - les puristes risquent d'être aussi déçus qu'il ne soit commercialisé qu'en version dématérialisée. De ce fait, l'idée d'Activision de le dépoussiérer est louable. Surtout avec de nouvelles textures HD, de meilleurs effets d'ombre et de lumière et même la possibilité d'afficher le jeu en 4K. Si possible, privilégiez la version PC en mode 200 %, c'est certainement la meilleure version sur le plan technique avec le frame-rate illimité et la gestion des options graphiques. Gameplay & prise en main 14/20 Oui, la campagne solo est excellente ! Oui, nous avons passé de bons moments à la retrouver "modernisée"... Mais quelle déception de constater que le soft fait l'impasse sur le multijoueur et les missions "Special Ops". Si ce n'est pas un drame pour vous, vous pouvez rajouter 2 points de plus ! Musique et bruitages 17/20 Nous retrouvons la bande-son avec localisation VF et un déluge d'explosions et de fusillades. Aucun doute, entre les musiques et bruitages, l'immersion opère toujours aussi bien qu'en 2009. Comme évoqué plus haut, c'est là où le bas blesse... "MW2" est l'addition de la campagne solo, des missions "Special Ops" et de l'indispensable Multijoueur. Or, avec cette version modernisée, Activision a choisi de se limiter à la campagne solo. Certes, pour une vingtaine d'euros, cela reste correct, mais bien des joueurs dont nous seront frustrés de ne pas combattre en ligne et de ne pas profiter des maps cultes de cet épisode. "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Campaign" est un vrai plaisir si vous aimez les modes solos de la saga. Et plus encore, si vous n'avez jamais joué à l'épisode de 2009. A l'inverse, le choix d'avoir supprimé le multijoueur - et même les missions "Special Ops" - risque fort d’attirer les foudres d'une partie de la communauté. Heureusement, le prix de lancement une vingtaine d'euros prend cela en considération. Bref, si vous aimez les FPS solo et si souhaitez vous confronter à un épisode mémorable, cette relecture est un passage obligé en 2020. The requirements to unlock this camo are a little complicated as it requires the user to get Gold camos for each of the weapon categories. Unlocking Gold camos in itself will require some skills as you will need to perform 0 – 150 headshots, then 0 – 150 kills with no attachments, and then 0 – 150 kills with red dot sight. This will be needed in all Weapon categories leading to Gold camos being unlocked for them, which in turn will unlock the Regal camo. The game was primarily developed by Raven Software while Infinity Ward assisted and executive produced. The game was previously only available to the players who purchased the Legacy, Digital Deluxe or Legacy Pro editions of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, but was released as a standalone game. The remastered game had the full campaign as well as multiplayer with sixteen maps. Ten Ambush, Backlot, Bog, Crash, Crossfire, District, Downpour, Overgrown, Shipment and Vacant are released at launch and six Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike and Wet Work as well as Gun Game and Hardpoint was added as free DLC on December 13, 2016 along with other new content with more content being released in the coming months.[3][4] The remaster also features several new achievements, several new weapons, and customization options such as calling cards, emblems, player customization, reticles and weapon camouflage. On PC, the game is available on both of Steam and Microsoft Store, just like as Infinite Warfare. Overview Being a remaster of Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, it differs from the recent installments of the Call of Duty series and it takes place in the modern era rather than the future. In comparison with the original game, it features multiple enhancements in terms of visuals and sound effects. The scenery and character models are much more detailed and the weapons are rendered more realistically For example, most weapon models showed the fire selector being set to the correct firing mode and bullets are visually seen depleting on the P90, the G36C and the belt-fed light machine guns. In the campaign, a good portion of the playable character's body might now be shown during some scripted sequences as well more animations being performed by them such as Paul Jackson protecting his eyes when the nuclear bomb goes off in "Shock and Awe" as well as catching Volker's hand in an attempt to save him. After taking the security detail out, the team found the package, but the fire from enemy fast movers meant that they barely escaped with the shipping manifest which points to Al-Asad as the owner of the package. To complete his revolution, Al-Asad executes the President of an unnamed Middle Eastern country, Yasir Al-Fulani. Shortly after this, Soap, Gaz and Price rescued the Russian informant who supplied the intel on the cargo ship operation codenamed Nikolai with the help of one of Price and Gaz's old friends, Sergeant Kamarov and his Russian Loyalists. Meanwhile, Al-Fulani's death prompted USMC with the 1st Force Recon to invade the Middle East to search for Al-Asad. A team consisting of Lieutenant Vasquez, Staff Sergeant Griggs, Sergeant Paul Jackson and others infiltrated a small town and cleared the target building and a TV station where they thought that Al-Asad is broadcasting propaganda only to find out that there was no sign of him and the broadcast is on a loop. Meanwhile, while the SAS is on their way out, the team's helicopter, Hammer 2-6 is shot down and they have to make their way across the fields, trying to evade the enemies, searching for survivors, but eventually openly engaging them. After reaching a barn, Soap takes a FIM-92 Stinger and shot the helicopter down that was chasing them. An AC-130H Specter arrives to support the SAS to the extraction point, first while they're on foot and later in civilian vehicles. After they reached the junkyard, the friendly birds came in to get them. The Marines headed to rescue a downed M1A2 Abrams, callsign War Pig from a bog, but the heavy enemy fire prompts Jackson to destroy a ZPU-4 so the air support can come in to mop up. The unit took their defensive positions on the tank as the engineers came in to fix it and escort it back to the highway. They cleared the forward area, allowing War Pig to move up and let the tank take some of the big targets. During this, Vasquez tells Griggs and his team to hold an area while he and Jackson complete the mission. At the end, they rendezvoused with a CH-46 Sea Knight for evac. At the climax of the invasion, the squad headed to the capital city where they thought that Al-Asad withdrew to. After rescuing a pinned down advanced recon team, Vasquez is informed that Al-Asad has a nuclear warhead in the area. They hastened to evacuate, but the team's escort is shot down and they went back to save her. Having spent their time doing this, they did not escape in time and the nuclear bomb goes off, killing civilians, OpFor troops and 30,000 servicemen including Vasquez and Jackson and may have included the members of SEAL Team Six who just relayed the info on the warhead. Griggs manages to escape as he was not with the team during this. At this point, Nikolai tells Price that Al-Asad may be at his safehouse in Azerbaijan. The headed there, clearing several buildings in the village before finding Al-Asad. Price interrogates Al-Asad and discovers that the nuclear package didn't belong to him when Al-Asad gets a call from the Russian Ultranationalist leader, Imran Zakhaev. Price executes Al-Asad. Price tells the team when in 1996, he was a Lieutenant assigned under the command of Captain MacMillan on a mission to assassinate Zakhaev, an Ultranationalist who was trading nuclear fuel rods for weapons. The duo made their way through the ghost town of Pripyat, Ukraine in ghillie suits and using minimal engagement to stay undetected. Eventually, they reached a hotel where they stayed on the top floor for three days until Zakhaev arrives. When the meeting is underway, Price uses a Barrett .50cal sniper rifle to assassinate Zakhaev, blowing his arm off. The two made their escape under pursuit from enemy helicopters, believing that Zakhaev will die from shock and blood loss. While on their way to the extraction point, they took a helicopter down, but it comes crashing towards them and injures MacMillan's leg. Price carries him the rest of the way and they held their ground, waiting for exfil. Back in the present day, eight hours after the death of Al-Asad, the used charges, a crashed Blackhawk's minigun and a FGM-148 Javelin to push the enemy forces back until Griggs and the American Marines arrived in the Sea Knight, "Gryphon Two-Seven." With their target now shifted to Zakhaev, the actual owner of the WMD that killed the Marines in the Middle East, the and Russian Loyalists performed a joint operation to try and capture his son, Viktor Zakhaev for information on his father's whereabouts. After a lengthy chase, the team cornered him on the roof of a five-story building and Soap moves in to restrain him. However, he shoots himself to evade capture. Angered by his son's death, Zakhaev takes control of an ICBM launch facility in the Atlay Mountains and threatens to launch nukes at the in retaliation. Price leads a joint British-American operation to stop this, but Griggs goes off course during the HALO and is captured. Soap, Gaz and Price diverted their course to rescue him before killing the power to the launch facility to allow Force Recon to breach the perimeter. Shortly after getting inside and linking up with Sniper Team Two, they witnessed two nuclear missiles being launched toward the with an estimated 41,096,749 casualties. The team hastened inside and after taking the enemy armor out with C4, they cut the wire to the vents and got inside. After reaching the control room, Soap uses the abort codes sent by Baseplate, the team's command to destroy the missiles in flight before they reach the Eastern Seaboard. Soap, Griggs and Price rendezvoused with Gaz at the vehicle depot where they made their escape by using Russian trucks. With the enemy vehicles and a Mi-24 Hind behind them, Soap, Gaz, Price, Griggs and the survivors headed down the Russian motorway, but a bridge critical to their escape is destroyed and they scrambled to make a desperate last stand against the Ultranationalists. However, an oil tanker soon explodes, incapacitating everyone, but Griggs who tries to drag Soap to safety, but is killed in the process by Zakhaev's guards. Zakhaev himself eventually executes Gaz. A wounded Price slides Soap his M1911 which he dramatically kills Zakhaev and his patrol. Kamarov and the Loyalists soon arrived where Soap is carried away on a stretcher and a medic begins to resuscitate Price, but the fate of the two is unknown. Meanwhile, a news reporter announces a series of nuclear missile tests in Russia and the search for a ship in the Bering Strait was called off, showing that the public did not know what actually happened in the six-day crisis. Epilogue In the Epilogue, a bonus mission titled Mile High Club can be played. This follows One-One Team whose assignment is to rescue a hostage from a plane. At the end, one of the members shoots the guard holding the HVI at gunpoint and they discovered that the bomb was armed, but they just managed to escape in time by freefalling from the plane. Patches A patch[5] was released on November 22, 2016 that addresses several issues with stats and joining games, adding new statistics to the Combat Record and providing several improvements to resemble the legacy versions of Dead Silence and the Helicopter. On December 13, the players who owned Modern Warfare Remastered received the remaining six remastered maps Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike and Wet Work along with the Hardpoint and Gun Game modes being made available in Modern Warfare Remastered for the first time. Also, all Modern Warfare Remastered players also got the remastered Winter Crash map in all of it's glory. There was a Winter Crash 24/7 playlist beginning on December 20 that lasted through the holidays. Multiplayer Updates While still remaining true to the original game, Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered introduces a variety of new things to the existing game by Raven Software. New camos, allowing every gun to be able to have Gold Camouflage while also introducing new successors known as Regal Camouflage and Exclusion Zone Camouflage, calling cards and emblems. Introduced on December 13, 2016, character customization, weapon Kits, reticles and melee weapons were added with the Depot. Players can now exchange COD Points or Depot Credits for Supply Drops to acquire a variety of customization items in the Depot. Additionally, Supply Drops also contained bonus Parts, a crafting currency used to craft customization items as an alternative to getting the items from Supply Drops. All items in Supply Drops were cosmetic only and can be obtained by using Parts. The later updates added new and high performance weapons that are only obtainable by collecting all of the required parts of it from a collection. Double XP was also supplied from December 20, 2016 to run through to December 27, 2016[6]. On March 14, 2017, the game received a St. Patrick's Day themed update, adding Daybreak, a St. Patrick Day's themed version of Downpour, several emblems and calling cards, camos and two melee weapons under the name "Operation Shamrock & Awe". Aside from the holiday additions, three new ranged weapons were added as well as three new melee weapons, more calling cards, emblems and characters as a new section in the Depot known as Operation Lion Strike for these specific items. On June 27, 2017, Modern Warfare Remastered received a "5 Weeks of Summer" seasonal event including Beach Bog a beach remake of Bog and there was also a new depot operation added named Copperhead including new calling cards, emblems, characters, melee weapons and new ranged weapons including the return of the Intervention and the akimbo Rangers from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Considering that Activision went ahead with a Call of Duty Modern Warfare remaster, it didn’t really come as a surprise to learn that there could be a Modern Warfare 2 remaster in the works. Now thanks to reports from both Eurogamer and CharlieIntel via JustPushStart, more details have been appears that unlike the Modern Warfare remaster, it looks like the sequel will not feature multiplayer. Instead it will be a single-player affair as both publications have “confirmed” this with their sources. It also seems that the remaster will indeed be launched on the 30th of April as per the previous listing spotted on Amazon is interesting because previously Activision decided to release Modern Warfare Remastered as a bundle where it was only available if gamers purchased Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. However the decision to release Modern Warfare 2 Remastered as a standalone copy probably means they’re trying to squeeze out as much profit as possible as the game is expected to be priced at € is possible that the first remastered title was a test of sorts to see if this is something players wanted before remastering more Call of Duty titles. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but in the meantime Activision has confirmed Call of Duty Black Ops 4 which is set for a release on the 12th of October later this year. Filed in .
